About Me

I am a trilingual registered counsellor from Hong Kong and I practice in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, hiking, birding and reading.

My Personal Journey: Trauma, Anxiety and Relationship Challenges

My interest in becoming a counsellor came from my experience of witnessing a close family member suffering from schizophrenia, along with my own struggles with anxiety, self-esteem, family and relationship traumas.

Clinical Approach

I specialize in helping clients heal from traumatic or distressing experiences, primarily by utilizing Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) and Lifespan Integration (LI). My counselling approach is also grounded in somatic psychology, polyvagal theory, Ego States theory, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

In our initial sessions, we will normally focus on history taking, assessing your needs and goals. By the end of this evaluation, I will provide you with preliminary insights into what our counselling journey may entail should you opt to proceed. This will encompass our objectives, the approaches we will employ, the approximate time investment required, and the activities involved.

We may not be able to control the external events or the actions of people around us; we can choose to respond in ways that strengthen and empower us, regardless of the situation we face. It is my belief and experience that by looking inwards, we can transform the impacts of our past and create a different future and perspective for ourselves. My goal is to come alongside my clients to create conditions for healing, resilience and growth.

“At one time or another, most of us have felt trapped by things we find ourselves thinking or doing, caught by our own impulses or foolish choices; ensnared in some unhappiness or fear; imprisoned by our own history. We feel unable to go forward and yet we believe that there must be a way.”
